Butterfly Lovers
In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Zhu Yingtai disguises herself as a man to attend school, where she meets Liang Shanbo. The two become close friends and classmates and eventually fall deeply in love. However, family opposition separates them, and Zhu Yingtai is forced to marry another man. After Liang Shanbo dies from grief, Zhu Yingtai refuses to accept her fate and ultimately reunites with him in death, with the two transforming into butterflies together. (Source: Baidu)
