How To Make Challah
In 1975, Sarah Rosen's aunt Jane filmed her 97-year-old immigrant grandmother baking challah, the traditional Jewish bread. In 2022, Sarah filmed her aunt Jane (now 80) baking challah herself for the very first time. Join us for a screening of the short documentary film "How to Make Challah," about one Jewish family's relationship with baking and Jewish tradition, followed by a discussion about the story of the film, family history, and the shifts in Jewish American identity reflected through the generations.
