Kareen Spano

Kareen Spano is an actress in film, theater, performance art, and television, as well as a poet, journalist, and coach in the field of human communication. She studied at the School of Theater of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. For 16 years, she taught acting, movement, and voice, four of those years at the British Institute's Conservatory of Theater Training, directed by Leonardo Torres Vidal (2010-2016). She participated in the Avignon Festival with Jacques Rebotier's theater company (2004). She has also worked as a playwright and theater director. She was a screenwriter and performer for the radio theater program "Mi novela favorita" (My Favorite Novel) on RPP. In November 2022, she published her first book of poems, "Cartas de ultramar" (Letters from Overseas), and in February of this year, her poetry was selected and published in the magazine "Temporales" of New York University to commemorate the centenary of César Vallejo's "Trilce." Her most recent production was "La señorita Julie" (Miss Julie) (2024), directed by Jean Pierre Gamarra. She is currently filming the movie "Life Between the Fingers" by Fabrizio Aguilar. This is her third film under the direction of Mariana de Althaus.
