Janhvi Kapoor

Janhvi Kapoor is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Hindi cinema, alongside recent ventures into Telugu films. Born on March 6, 1997, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, she hails from a prominent film family; she is the daughter of the actress Sridevi and film producer Boney Kapoor. She studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in California before making her screen debut. Kapoor made her highly anticipated acting debut portraying Parthavi Singh in Shashank Khaitan's romantic tragedy *Dhadak* (2018) opposite Ishaan Khatter, which emerged as a commercial success and won her the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut. She subsequently transitioned into performance-oriented, female-led narratives, earning critical acclaim and a Filmfare Award for Best Actress nomination for her titular role as the Indian Air Force pilot in the biographical drama *Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl* (2020). She continued exploring diverse genres with roles in the horror-comedy *Roohi* (2021), the black comedy crime film *Good Luck Jerry* (2022), and the survival thriller *Mili* (2022), the latter of which earned her a second Filmfare Best Actress nomination for her performance as a woman trapped in a freezer. She appeared alongside Varun Dhawan in Nitesh Tiwari’s romantic drama *Bawaal* (2023) and headlined the sports drama *Mr. & Mrs. Mahi* (2024) alongside Rajkummar Rao, followed by the political thriller *Ulajh* (2024). In 2024, she made her Telugu-film debut as Thangam in Koratala Siva’s action film *Devara: Part 1*, opposite Jr. NTR. Her subsequent projects include Shashank Khaitan's romantic comedy *Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari* (2025) reuniting with Varun Dhawan, the drama *Param Sundari* (2025), *Homebound* (2025), and Buchi Babu Sana's multi-lingual sports action drama *Peddi* (2026) alongside Ram Charan.
